This new model was over 2 years in development. We are very proud of the result! The unit is small in size, measuring 10.5”x 8”x 6.5” and weighs about 10 pounds. The A.T.A. Styled case is made of WOOD and METAL – not cheap plastic – very professional looking (and sounding..) and sturdy. It will fit under an airplane seat for you world travelers, or will easily stow in the corner of your prop case. We have been use these systems in all of our school assembly programs. Hundreds of kids have been packed into school cafeterias, auditoriums and gymnasiums to see our shows and this little PA system allows them all to hear the show. When working outdoors, expect the unit to cover about half the size of an indoor audience, as the sound disperses in the great open spaces - but you can still cover a couple hundred people.
The PAS-8500 has a Big 100 watts of power (most portable PA's on the market only have 15-25 watts). The unit comes with TWO wireless microphones system built right in. These are high quality HIGH BAND systems. That is to say it is NOT like the cheap wireless microphones that pick up interference from garage door openers, TV remotes and car alarms! You actually receive three microphones in the box, a headset mic, which you can wear on your head, or around your neck, AND a clip-on lapel mic. As there is only one transmitter (the little belt pack) you can only use one of the mics at a time. Simply choose the one that suits you best, and keep the other one as a spare. You also receive a Hand-Held Microphone that works on a separate channel so that it may be used at the same time as the headset/lapel mic. Performers can wear the headset mic and use the Hand-Held mic to interview an audience member. For meetings, the main speaker can use the lapel mic while the Hand-Held mic can be passed around the audience for questions. Wedding Celebrants can use the headset or lapel mic while the bride and groom recite vows with the hand held mic(with music played through the MP3 player). The auxiliary jacks on the unit allows you to hook up a tape deck, CD player, iPod, another microphone, laptop computer, guitar, keyboard, etc. to your PA. Now Bluetooth capable! The auxiliary jacks have a separate volume control ( an important feature not found on most of the other small PA's on the market)so that the music can be set differently from your voice. The line out jack allows you to hook up the PA to a larger system, allowing you to use your wireless mic through the large system.
